Pars Today — While the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has, so far, complied with the terms of the Gaza ceasefire and returned Israeli captives, Israel’s war minister warned that if Hamas fails to implement the agreement, Israel — in coordination with the United States — will return to war.

According to Pars Today, Yisrael Katz, Israel’s war minister, said he has ordered the military to prepare a comprehensive plan to compel Hamas to surrender if the war is resumed. Katz also claimed that Israel will work with an international force led by the United States to destroy tunnels in Gaza until Gaza is disarmed and guaranteed not to pose any threat to Israel.

While Hamas has complied with all terms of the Gaza ceasefire and returned Israeli captives, Israel’s war minister said Hamas must also return the bodies of all slain captives and destroy its weapons.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that if Hamas refuses to adhere to the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces could resume attacks.

Speaking in a brief CNN interview on Wednesday evening, Trump said, “What’s happening with Hamas will be resolved quickly.”

Remarks by Israeli and American officials about sidelining Hamas in the post-war arrangements for Gaza come even as, following the ceasefire agreement, many Israeli experts and analysts have conceded that they were unable to achieve the goal of destroying the resistance and disarming Gaza.

Currently, many Israeli analysts acknowledge that Israel has failed to achieve its objectives in the two-year Gaza conflict, noting the continued existence and undisputed power of Hamas in Gaza, as well as the movement’s popularity among Palestinians.

Orit Perlov, an Israeli expert, stated, “There is no alternative to Hamas, and the people of Gaza support this movement.”

Orit Perlov, a researcher at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies, regarding Hamas’s full control over Gaza, added that Hamas has now emerged at the height of its power, eliminating all alternative options that Israel had tried to create.

The Israeli expert reiterated that there will be no replacement for Hamas, stating, “Hamas is regaining control of northern Gaza, and the people of the strip support Hamas’s actions.”

Currently, many Israeli officials and analysts openly acknowledge the regime’s failure against the resistance.

In a continuation of the series of admissions by Israeli officials, Amit Halavi, a member of the Israeli Knesset, recently stated: “We were defeated by Hamas; the movement is demonstrating its full strength in Gaza. For two years, we deceived ourselves, but we did not succeed, and now Hamas has full control over Gaza.”
