Pars Today – Hassan Ezzeddine, a senior member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese Parliament, said that Lebanon’s future will be determined by its people and the resistance, not by its enemies.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Hassan Ezzeddine commented on recent developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly the continuation of direct negotiations between the Lebanese government and Israel within the framework of a “surrender agreement.” He argued that the Lebanese government’s claim that negotiations are a less costly option reflects a lack of understanding of the true nature, ambitions, and expansionist policies of Israel.

Ezzeddine stated that Hezbollah remains committed to resistance as its primary strategy for confronting Israel and will spare no sacrifice in pursuing this path. He added that defending the homeland is an inherent, divine, legitimate, national, moral, and popular right.

The senior lawmaker further stressed that the resistance will continue until all Lebanese territory is fully liberated, asserting that no country in the world can prevent the Lebanese people from exercising their legitimate right. He pointed to Hezbollah’s actions in 2000 and 2006, saying that the movement would once again succeed in liberating its land.

The Lebanese lawmaker stated that the resistance brought freedom to Lebanon, protected the country's sovereignty, territory, people, and resources, and placed Lebanon in a position worthy of its citizens. He added that experience has consistently shown the resistance to be an essential force for Lebanon’s security, especially at a time when, in his view, the state is failing to fulfill its duty of protecting the country.

He further argued that the so-called “surrender agreement” conceals Israel’s actions and legitimizes its presence on Lebanese territory. Contrary to what Lebanese officials had claimed, he said, Israel has refused to withdraw from Lebanese soil and has linked its withdrawal to the disarmament of the resistance, which is the Lebanese people’s guarantee of a dignified life.

Ezzeddine also stressed that the Lebanese people would never accept such a humiliating and disgraceful position. He asserted that Lebanon would never be allowed to fall under American tutelage or be transformed into Israeli settlements. He said that Lebanon’s future would be shaped by the sacrifices of the country’s martyrs, the people of southern Lebanon, the Lebanese national army, and all those who have made sacrifices in defense of the nation.
