Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council (EC) Mohsen Rezaie described Riyadh as Tehran's enemy, and said the Americans who are supporting the Wahhabi Saudis will one day regret their deeds.

"Today, Saudi Arabia is our enemy and Turkey is our rival," Rezaie, also former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said, addressing a congress in the western province of Kohkilouye and Boyer Ahmad on Sunday.

Referring to the US support for Saudi Arabia, he said, "One day, they will see that Wahhabism will disgrace them in a way worse than the ISIL."

Expressing regret that the US has learned no lesson from the crimes committed by hanged Iraqi dictator Saddam and the Takfiri terrorist group of ISIL against the people, Rezaie said, "Iran is asking them why they enter the lands of independent countries like Syria and Yemen."

Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council called on the regional countries to maintain their independence and avoid becoming a puppet of the US and Israel, and asked, "Why shouldn't a country like Saudi Arabia experience democracy and its people decide their own fate?"
