Yemen's Zalzal missiles inflict heavy losses on Saudi-backed militias
The Yemeni army and popular forces pounded the gatherings of the militants supported by Saudi Arabia in Ta'iz Province, inflicting heavy losses on them, media reports said.
Yemen's Zalzal-2 missiles targeted the gathering centers of the Saudi-backed militias in Yakhtal area of al-Mukha region in Ta'iz Province, killing and injuring several of them as well as destroying their military vehicles and equipment.
The missile attack came after the Saudi-led fighter jets struck al-Far region in the town of Kataf in Sa'ada Province three times.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen since March 2015 to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far claimed the lives of at least 14,300 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Despite Riyadh's claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
According to several reports, the Saudi-led air campaign against Yemen has pushed the impoverished country towards humanitarian disaster; however, the Riyadh regime has failed to reach its goals despite suffering great losses.
Nearly 3.3 million Yemeni people, including 2.1 million children, are currently suffering from acute malnutrition. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
