Pars Today - Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, stated that the West is striving to maintain its dominance within the framework of the colonial system, emphasizing that the era of colonial exploitation is over.

According to Pars Today, quoting Al Mayadeen Medvedev said that the West is striving to maintain its dominance within the framework of the colonial system. He added, "The era of colonial exploitation is over, but the descendants of the colonizers are desperately clinging to their legacy, which is evident in the West's economic policies, especially its sanction policies."

Medvedev, during the general session of the international joint forum "Global Majority for a Multipolar World," said:

"Any international restrictions can only be implemented by international organizations, especially the United Nations Charter. Nevertheless, such efforts are being made."

Medvedev emphasized that several countries, particularly Western ones, spare no effort to maintain their hegemony and control over material, natural, and human resources, by preserving the colonial system they have been accustomed to for centuries.

He stated, "We must constantly defend the fundamental principles of international law as outlined in the United Nations Charter and resist any attempts to misinterpret them, including the imposition of an unregulated global order described as a rules-based world order, which benefits only Western countries."
