  • Ukraine's attack on Kursk and German government's growing tendency to assert power against Russia

Pars Today - Some experts believe that Ukraine did not have the audacity to attack Russian territory and a strong external factor, such as the US government, caused it to do so.

One of the events that has been very much in the spotlight these days is the issue of the Ukrainian military's attack on part of Russian territory with the support of the United States and Germany. According to Pars Today, the Iranian newspaper Khorasan wrote in a review of the events:

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, referring to the recent operation in the Kursk region of Russia said on Monday: "Russia imposed war on others. Now the war has returned to its own home [Russia]."

Zelensky added that Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, "strongly wants war" and that Moscow can only be forced to accept peace "by force".

In response, Putin attended a meeting with senior Russian defense and security officials to discuss the latest field developments. He said that Ukraine's goal in conducting operations on Russian soil was to gain a better position in future peace talks. Putin added that Kiev thought this operation would lead to chaos and unrest in Russia, but it did not happen.

According to the Russian President, the number of citizens of this country who have volunteered to participate in the battlefield following the recent Ukrainian attack has increased. He emphasized that Russian military personnel will continue their operations in eastern Ukraine.

Most analysts believe that Russia will soon expel Ukrainian forces from its territory, but nevertheless, the Ukrainians wanted to convey to the Kremlin leaders that if the war drags on, insecurity will also be drawn into Russia's borders.

It seems that Ukraine's counterattack is temporary, as Ukraine does not have the necessary forces for a long time and has done so only with the aim of withdrawing Russian forces from the front lines of Donbass and instilling fear in Russian soldiers.

American stimulus

Some experts believe that Ukraine did not have the audacity to attack Russian territory and a strong external stimulus, such as the US government, caused it to do so.

According to an analysis, the US is trying to show the American people on the eve of the presidential election that their policies in the Ukrainian war zones have been useful.

Therefore, Sabrina Singh, the Pentagon spokesperson, defended the attack on Kursk and claimed that the Ukrainian army's attacks are in line with US policy and have not escalated tensions in the region, and now it is up to Vladimir Putin to contain tensions.

Germany is the first accused for the Kremlin

Since Ukraine used Western weapons in its attack on Russia, Moscow's leaders warned the senders of the consequences. Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, referring to the use of German tanks by Ukrainian forces in the attack on Kursk, wrote in a message on the social media platform X: "The German newspaper Bild has published an article that proudly reports the return of German tanks to Russian territory.

In response to Germany's support for Ukraine's attack on Russian territory, Moscow will do everything to bring the most modern Russian tanks to the Berlin battlefield."

The presence of German tanks in Kursk came after NATO member countries recently set aside all security considerations against Russia and allowed Kiev to use Western weapons to attack Russian territory. This action, aimed at pushing back Russia, could further increase the likelihood of a direct confrontation between NATO and Moscow, something that some German officials are warning about the consequences for Berlin.

In this regard, Michael Kretschmer, the Prime Minister of the German federal state of Saxony, emphasized: "If German tanks were used in the attack by Ukrainian forces on the Kursk region, this is another red line violation. For two years, we have seen that what has been announced by German officials has not been implemented in practice. We are getting closer to becoming a party to the conflict in Ukraine, and people are worried about it."

He also emphasized that Berlin should stop sending military aid to the Ukrainian armed forces. NATO's gradual crossing of Russia's red lines not only does not help to resolve the crisis but can also spark World War III, in which there is no winner with the presence of nuclear powers.
