Pars Today - The assistant to the President of Russia announced the presence of leaders of 24 countries at the BRICS summit in Kazan.

Yuri Ushakov, announced at a press conference that the leaders of 24 countries have confirmed their presence at the BRICS summit. According to Pars Today quoting TV BRICS, he mentioned that the number of participating countries may increase, and a total of 32 countries will be represented at the event. He also added that this summit may become the largest foreign policy event ever held in Russia.

According to Ushakov, 9 BRICS leaders will attend the summit, which has two main agendas: a meeting of BRICS member countries focused on "strengthening multilateralism for global development and fair security" and meetings in the format of BRICS+ on the topic "BRICS and the Global South: Building the Future of the World Together."

He also said that in 2024, more than 200 events were held, more than 20 of which were at the ministerial level.

The BRICS summit will be held from October 22 to 24, 2024, in Kazan, Russia, and representatives from Asia, Africa, West Asia, and Latin America have also been invited in the format of BRICS+.

Currently, this group has 10 member countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that 34 countries had expressed their desire to join BRICS.
