Direct US negotiations with Hamas a strategic defeat for Israel
Pars Today - A Zionist analyst in an Israeli media outlet warned that the special relationship between the United States and the Zionist regime may be on the brink of collapse.
According to Pars Today, Abraham Ben-Zvi, a professor of political science at the University of Haifa in Israel and an expert on Israel-U.S. relations, wrote in the newspaper Yisrael Hayom (Israel Today): Six decades of deep, strategic, and diplomatic partnership between the U.S. and Israel, which was based on shared values and had earned the title of “special relationship,” have now reached a critical juncture that could endanger the future of this alliance.
Ben-Zvi wrote: Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, are rapidly heading toward a direct confrontation regarding sensitive regional and global issues.
According to the author, swiftly ending the war in the Gaza Strip is a key element for Trump in building his legacy as a decisive leader who relentlessly strives to resolve major crises or at least contain them.
Trump seeks to portray himself as a mediator, and the Gaza war is seen by him as part of efforts to redesign the West Asia region under U.S. dominance.
Ben-Zvi added: Achieving this goal is contingent upon mutual agreements between Washington and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, where the U.S., by providing advanced weaponry to these countries in exchange for substantial investments in its economy, seeks to enhance their military standing in the region.
The analysis states: The White House’s ultimate goal with this approach is to establish a broad diplomatic and strategic coalition, supported by the U.S., to counter existing threats and regional and global challenges to the new regional order.
Ben-Zvi warned: The special relationship between the U.S. and the Zionist regime is now under unprecedented pressures, as the left wing of the Democratic Party is considered a serious threat to this relationship, while the isolationist factionmissing person faction of the Republican Party also shows signs of increasing reluctance.
This political science professor added: This situation has caused growing frustration and anger toward Netanyahu within the White House, and this dissatisfaction has now been openly expressed.
Ben-Zvi said: Trump and his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, are baffled by the strategic logic of the Zionist regime’s continued presence in the Gaza quagmire, as from their perspective, this war is meaningless and aimless.
This Israeli-Zionist analyst pointed to recent regional developments that could further darken U.S.-Israel relations, including the release of Eidan Alexander, a dual Israeli-American captive, whom Hamas freed after direct negotiations with the U.S.
He also predicted that in the near future, Hamas’s political role in governing post-war Gaza may be accepted, even if symbolically. Additionally, a nuclear agreement with Iran without consulting the Zionist regime and support for Saudi Arabia’s civilian nuclear program without obtaining the regime’s approval could be part of future developments.
