Pars Today - The Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Pakistan stated that the Persian language has been a significant factor in familiarizing the people of the Indian subcontinent with Islam. The Persian language has a historical presence in Pakistan, and a large portion of the history of the Indian subcontinent has been written in Persian.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, "Aurangzeb Khan Khichi," Pakistan's Minister of Culture and National Heritage, said on Wednesday: Before the arrival of colonial powers, Persian was the primary language of the people of the Indian subcontinent and played a pivotal role in conveying religious and cultural concepts, including introducing the people of this region to Islam.
He made the remarks during a meeting with "Seyyed Abbas Salehi," Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, on the sidelines of the Asian Cultural Cooperation Assembly in Hong Kong.
Khan Khichi added: Today, the deep historical ties and heartfelt affection of the Pakistani people toward Iran are valuable assets for expanding cultural relations between the two countries.
He emphasized: Pakistan is ready, in a friendly and fraternal atmosphere, to transform shared cultural and civilizational capacities with Iran into tangible cooperation opportunities.
"Seyyed Abbas Salehi," Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, also praised the strengthening of Persian language chairs in Pakistan during this meeting. Salehi, referring to the historical background and profound cultural commonalities between Iran and Pakistan, stated: Relations between the two countries are based on ancient civilizational bonds and shared religious beliefs, which provide valuable potential for the development of joint cultural projects and programs.
The Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance also stressed the promotion of tourism, bilateral cultural interactions through collaborative artistic productions, active participation of artists in regional festivals, and the creation of joint exhibition spaces between Iran and Pakistan.
