Pars Today- Vice President of the United States said the Russian president does not know well how to exit from the war.

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the presidents of Russia and the US talked over the phone for more than two hours on Monday. They had this phone conversation while the negotiations for the Ukrainian war have not been fruitful so far. According to Pars Today, quoting from IRNA, the US Vice President, J. D. Vance, said on Monday before the phone conversation of the two presidents, that, in his view, Putin does not know properly the exit from the war in Ukraine. He added, "If Russia is not inclined to have interaction, the US should finally announce that this is not our war."

 

Trump: Russian leader calling for peace with Ukraine

Meanwhile, the American President, Donald Trump, said after the phone talk with his Russian counterpart that, in his opinion, Putin is intent to achieve peace with Ukraine. He stressed that no further sanctions will be ratified against Russia, "because progress is likely." Trump added, "I think there is a chance (possibility) for reaching a result, and if you want to do something in this course, you may make the conditions even worse. But, the time may come for occurring of this event (imposition of sanctions)."

 

Putin: We are ready for working on peace with Ukraine

Russian president, too, said about the phone conversation with his American counterpart, "Moscow is ready to cooperate with Ukraine on the memorandum of understanding concerning the future peace treaty which can include the issues related to ceasefire and settlement of the conflict." Putin maintains that the principles of settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, the timetable for the possible peace agreement and likely ceasefire for a specific period are some of the issues. He emphasized, "In view of this, the Russian and Ukrainian parties should show their maximum inclination for peace and reach a truce which benefits all."

 

Zelensky: I'm unaware of MoU details

Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, also, said on Monday that he has no information on the details of the Russian "Memorandum of Understanding" about the peace roadmap, but he is inclined to review Moscow's proposals on the issue. Zelensky added, "When we receive the MoU or the Russian proposals, we can sort out our views accordingly." He announced that he had a phone contact with the American president before the latter's conversation with the Russian president and told him, "Do not make a decision about Ukraine without us because there are principled issues which are very important for Kiev." Ukraine's president, in response to a question on Russia's request for withdrawal from Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia regions, answered, "We will not pull out our forces from our domain."

 

Peskov: Text of peace MoU will be complicated

In the same regard, Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman of Kremlin, said on Monday that compilation of the text for the peace memorandum of understanding and ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine will be intricate and no ultimatum can be determined for it. He added, "The draft of this document will be compiled by each of the Russian and Ukrainian parties and both parties will exchange it and complicated contacts will then be done for compilation of a single text."
