Pars Today – Germany has announced that negotiations are underway to supply Ukraine with new air defense systems.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Stefan Cornelius, spokesperson for the German Chancellor, stated that air defense is a central element of Germany’s support for Ukraine. He emphasized that negotiations to provide Ukraine with new air defense systems are currently ongoing. Cornelius also noted that Berlin has previously sent numerous air defense systems to Ukraine, including German-made systems such as the IRIS-T SLM and foreign systems such as the U.S.-made Patriot system.

Ukraine’s claim on Russia preparing for war with NATO

A Ukrainian intelligence official claimed that Russia is preparing its missiles for a potential war with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by 2030. Ukrainian military intelligence provided statistics on Russia’s weapons production for the current year. According to this Ukrainian agency, Moscow’s main focus will be on further missile development.

Ukraine also stated that, in addition to missiles, dozens of new fighter jets and hundreds of tanks are currently being manufactured in Russia.

On Sunday, Ukrainian armed forces carried out a drone attack on a children’s playground in Gulliver Park, Donetsk. As a result of this attack, which occurred while many civilians were present, six people were injured, including a child.

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Monday that Ukraine deliberately targeted children and their parents by attacking the playground in Gulliver Park, Donetsk, and emphasized that Russia reserves the right to respond to this terrorist act. Zakharova added, “With this attack, Ukraine has shown its intent to disrupt the peaceful resolution process and escalate tensions.”

Continuation of Russian attacks on Ukraine

On Monday, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported a Russian attack on a thermal power plant in the Kyiv region. This attack occurred following Sunday’s Russian strike on the building of the Ukrainian Cabinet in the country’s capital, which prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to express dissatisfaction with the ongoing situation in Ukraine and the continuation of Moscow’s attacks.

Meanwhile, Keith Kellog, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, described the recent Russian attack on the Ukrainian Cabinet building in Kyiv as a dangerously escalating threat to the war. In a statement, Kellog said: “The danger in any war is escalation. It appears that Russia, with its largest strike against Ukraine’s Cabinet buildings in Kyiv, is intensifying tensions.”
