Pars Today – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela.
In response to the U.S. military attack on Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that it strongly condemns the U.S. military strike on Venezuela and the blatant violation of the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to Pars Today, the statement added that the U.S. military attack on Venezuela is a clear violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and basic rules of international law—particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the Charter, which prohibits the use of force—and constitutes a textbook example of “aggressive action.” It emphasized that this act must be explicitly condemned immediately by the UN and all states committed to upholding the rule of law, peace, and international security.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that the U.S. aggression against an independent UN member state grossly violates regional and international peace and security, with consequences that affect the entire international system and further undermine the UN Charter-based order.
The statement also reaffirmed Venezuela’s inherent right to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and right to self-determination, while highlighting the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and international organizations, particularly the UN and its Security Council, to immediately stop the illegal U.S. attack. It called for necessary measures to hold the planners and perpetrators of crimes committed during this military aggression accountable.
