Pars Today – The U.S. Senate Democratic leader, in the wake of a military attack on Iran, heavily criticized the government of Donald Trump, stressing that there was no "imminent threat" from Tehran for Washington.

According to IRNA, Hakeem Jeffries told reporters on Tuesday, “I took part in debriefing session. There was no evidence showing us that the United States was under threat of imminent attack by Iran. there is no evidence in this regard.”

He called the action of the trump government against Iran illegal and said Congress did not permit the attack and the American Constitution is nothing to be ignored.

He also announced that the members of the faction would discuss the upcoming vote on the Trump’s authority regarding the war with Iran.

The leader of the House of Representatives said it is not clear yet if the resolution would gain the necessary vote for ratification.
