According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament, responded to remarks by the US Treasury secretary on Tuesday night by posting an economic meme with the message: “Boo! Are you ready?”

The image features charts showing everything from oil and diesel prices to consumer confidence and home-buying power, arranged to form the shape of a ghost. The message is a sarcastic reminder that you do not have to wait for Halloween to get scared; sometimes, all you need to do is open the economy section!

The image also features David Zervos, Bessent’s newly appointed special adviser and an advocate of lower interest rates in the United States. Zervos had said he would not cut his hair until the Federal Reserve lowered interest rates.
