Pars Today- Bahrain’s leading Shia cleric rejected a series of decisions issued by the country’s ruling authorities, stressing that believers have taken a united position against them.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem, the leader of Bahrain’s Shia community, said in a message: “The series of decisions issued by the ruling political establishment in Bahrain are unacceptable.”
Referring to the Shia community’s response to these decisions, he said: “Their response is a united one, summed up in the declaration of monotheism: ‘There is no god but Allah.’”
Ayatollah Isa Qassem added: “This position reflects strong opposition to and an open confrontation with the aforementioned decisions.”
The remarks came after Bahrain’s Al Khalifa regime adopted a policy of suppressing Shia Muslims and arrested and prosecuted a number of prominent clerics.
