Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister told his Turkish counterpart that Iran’s actions in the region are in line with its legitimate right of self-defense.
According to Pars Today, Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, held a phone conversation with Hakan Fidan to discuss regional developments and the consequences of what was described as the unlawful war by the United States and the Israeli regime on regional and global security.
Araghchi, describing the alleged crimes committed by the aggressors against the Iranian people—particularly attacks on schools, hospitals, and residential areas—emphasized Iran’s determination to firmly defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stated that Iran’s actions in targeting military bases and facilities of the aggressors in countries of the region are in line with its inherent right of self-defense, adding that Iran regrets that the territories of Islamic countries in the region are being used by the United States and the Israeli regime to launch attacks against Iran.
Referring to the consequences of U.S. and Israeli military actions on regional stability and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, he stated that the insecurity imposed on the Strait is a direct result of these military actions. He added that regional and global actors must hold the parties responsible for this situation accountable for their actions.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also noted the consequences of the continuation of war in the region and, referring to his recent consultations with officials from regional countries, stressed the need to reduce tensions and strengthen relations between Iran and countries in the region.
