Pars Today – In a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Iran’s Foreign Minister described U.S. threats to attack Iran’s energy facilities as an explicit admission of intent to commit a war crime.

According to Pars Today, Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, spoke by phone on Sunday about the latest regional developments and international issues related to the war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran.

In this conversation, Iran’s Foreign Minister outlined the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Iranian people over the past 37 days, including attacks on Iran’s industrial and production infrastructure, hospitals, schools, residential areas, as well as nuclear facilities and centers. He stressed the urgent need for action by relevant international bodies—especially the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency—to condemn these crimes and hold the aggressors accountable.

He also referred to U.S. threats to target Iran’s energy facilities, describing such rhetoric as an explicit admission of intent to commit a war crime.

Araghchi called for a responsible approach based on international law from all influential parties within the UN Security Council, and urged preventing the United States from exploiting the Council for its own purposes.

Russia’s Foreign Minister, for his part, reiterated his country’s principled stance in condemning the military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran. He emphasized the need to halt unlawful attacks on civilian targets—especially the Bushehr nuclear power plant—and called for making use of every opportunity to prevent the expansion of the conflict.
