Mearsheimer: Iranians will clearly triumph

Pars Today — Prominent international relations scholar and University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer, commenting on the renewed tensions in West Asia following the latest round of U.S. strikes against Iran, said that “the Iranians will clearly triumph.”
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Mearsheimer said in an interview:
“The Iranians will clearly prevail, but what Donald Trump will do is declare victory, and everyone around him will say that it was a great victory.”
He added: “The question, however, is whether he can convince most Americans. I do not think he will be able to.”
The University of Chicago professor went on to ask: “You have to ask yourself whether you believe what you see with your own eyes or what Trump tells you.”
He further noted: “Before this war, almost no one imagined that the Iranians would perform this well.”
