Pars Today - The Russian president has emphasized that the entire world is amazed by the resilience and courage of the Iranian people.
According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, said on Thursday night at the plenary session of the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club that naturally the whole world is closely following the ongoing events surrounding Iran and is amazed by the courage, heroism, and resilience of the Iranian people, as well as by the existence of a "vast reserve" at the highest levels of state governance, the armed forces, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — individuals who are ready to defend the people of their country.
The Russian president stated: "We oppose any aggression and believe that all problems must be resolved through peaceful means and through agreement. We hope that the Strait of Hormuz will also be reopened and that the sanctions will be lifted — something that Iran rightly demands. The unjust sanctions against Iran must be lifted."
According to Putin, the fair lifting of restrictions against Tehran will completely eliminate the need to impose any bans on the movement of civilian ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea region.
Vladimir Putin stated that some decision-making mechanisms in the United Nations, particularly in the Security Council, seem outdated, but this institution should not be bypassed.
The Russian president emphasized that the member countries of the BRICS group encompass half of the world's population and can serve as a model for shaping a new global order.
Putin said: "An organization like BRICS can undoubtedly be a model for shaping the future order of the world. We know that today it practically includes half of the world's population, and BRICS's share in the global economy is also continuously increasing. This trend continues every year; we see it, and the statistics show the same. Most importantly, it is the principles of BRICS's formation and activity. Everyone is equal. There is no domination in it, and that is what makes it attractive."
