Iran ranks among world’s top 10 tourism destinations

Pars Today- Iran’s Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said Iran, with 30 properties inscribed across 113 World Heritage sites, ranks among the world’s top 10 countries in terms of registered heritage sites and is also among the world’s top four countries in intangible cultural heritage.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Ali Darabi said Iran is a land with a 7,000-year historical legacy, home to around one million historical artifacts and sites, of which 43,000 have so far been registered.

He added that, in addition to its historical and cultural heritage, Iran has extensive potential in the field of intangible cultural heritage, and the country’s position in the global registration of such heritage reflects the depth and diversity of Iranian culture.

Darabi said Iran aims to attract 17 million foreign tourists and noted that promoting the country’s tourism potential and providing the necessary infrastructure are essential to achieving this goal.
