Pars Today- The presidents of Iran and Uzbekistan, in a phone call, emphasized the friendly and brotherly relations between Tehran and Tashkent and stressed the need to make use of existing capacities to deepen ties and expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Citing IRNA, Pars Today reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a phone call with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday afternoon, October 1, stressing the brotherly and friendly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan, said: “It is necessary, through joint efforts and resolve, to further deepen relations between the two countries and expand ties between the two nations in various fields.”

Pezeshkian stressed: “Expanding relations with different countries, particularly friendly and like-minded countries, is a key priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy. In this regard, we are seeking to further develop the level of cooperation and relations with Uzbekistan.”

The Uzbek president, for his part, referring to the growing trend in Tehran-Tashkent relations and cooperation, said: “Relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields are continuously expanding and progressing, and there is a firm resolve to strengthen and develop these ties.”

Referring to the sensitive and complex conditions in the region and the world, Mirziyoyev told the Iranian president: “During this sensitive and complex period, you are taking important measures and making significant efforts to ensure peace and calm, as well as to promote the development and progress of your country.”

The Uzbek president also stressed his country’s determination to further develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying: “Through the exchange of diplomatic delegations and expanded consultations, we are determined to enhance our cooperation and relations with Iran in various fields.”
