Pars Today- The commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army’s Navy has described the naval power of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a factor in safeguarding national interests, ensuring regional security, and protecting the security of communication and shipping routes.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army’s Navy, said in a message marking World Maritime Day that, given the importance of the sea to global trade and commerce, seafarers are the key players in keeping this vital cycle going.

Rear Admiral Irani stressed that the sea is one of the most important platforms connecting nations and facilitating global trade and commerce, and that seafarers play a role in maintaining this vital connection without geographical borders serving as an obstacle to their movement. He added that World Maritime Day is therefore an opportunity to honor those who, through their knowledge, skills, patience and sense of responsibility, keep the vital cycle of maritime activity and global trade moving.

Shahram Irani stressed: For the great Islamic Iran, the sea also has a meaning that goes beyond being merely a communication route. A country with extensive coastlines in the north and south and a privileged location adjacent to one of the world’s most vital waterways cannot remain indifferent to the fate and security of the sea. The Strait of Hormuz is part of the strategic geography of our beloved Iran and one of the world’s most important energy and trade routes. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s power in this maritime expanse, under the guidance of the martyred Leader of the Ummah, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (may his soul rest in peace), and in accordance with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, serves as a foundation for safeguarding national interests and ensuring regional security.

He added: The naval power of great Islamic Iran is not a power aimed at threatening nations or creating insecurity; rather, it is a responsible form of power dedicated to safeguarding the stability and security of shipping and preventing adventurism in the region. This was demonstrated during the Ramadan War and the brutal attacks by the bloodthirsty and child-killing US-Zionist regime. The Islamic Republic of Iran, through its defensive capabilities and strong presence in surrounding waters, has shown that it has established a lasting link between power and responsibility, and between deterrence and peace.

Rear Admiral Irani stressed: Within this framework, the vital and decisive Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, relying on indigenous knowledge, experience and capabilities, has, alongside other armed forces, a critical duty to safeguard the country’s maritime interests and ensure the security of communication and shipping routes.
