Pars Today – An Israeli media outlet reported on Thursday night that Gadi Eisenkot, the former chief of staff of the Israeli military and leader of the Yashar party, has, for the first time, surpassed prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in polls measuring suitability for the premiership.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Israel’s i24NEWS channel reported that Gadi Eisenkot, the head of the Yashar party and former chief of staff of the Israeli military, received more support than Netanyahu in the latest survey.

According to the report, Eisenkot secured 47 percent of the vote in the poll, while Netanyahu received 44 percent.

The survey comes as Netanyahu’s government, with elections in the occupied territories approaching, is reportedly seeking to boost its popularity by adopting a series of measures and granting economic concessions to settlers.
