Freedom Flotilla launches new mission to sail toward Gaza

Pars Today – The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has announced the launch of a new international mission to sail toward the Gaza Strip in October in an effort to challenge and break the blockade on the territory.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition said the vessels in the convoy are scheduled to stop at several European ports before continuing their journey toward the shores of Gaza in October.

In a statement, the coalition said: “We sail again because Israel has not stopped the genocide, and Palestine is still not free.” According to the coalition, the mission aims to challenge the blockade of Gaza and increase public pressure in Europe to end the blockade.

According to the statement, the Hanzala 2 vessel stopped at ports in Norway, Sweden and Denmark in June and July. Another vessel, the Kate, departed from Bristol, England, in August and continued its journey after stops in Ireland, Germany and France.

The vessels are also scheduled to stop at ports in Spain, Portugal and Italy before setting sail for Gaza. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has announced that it intends to reach its destination in October.

Human rights activists, trade unionists, elected representatives, journalists, doctors and other supporters of the rights of the Palestinian people are taking part in the mission.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has also announced that at each European port, it will call on local communities to pressure their governments to stop sending weapons and energy to Israel, end diplomatic and military cooperation with the Israeli regime, and impose sanctions against it.

One American participant in the mission, referring to the risks involved in sailing toward Gaza, said that although the action carries serious dangers, silence and inaction would exact a far greater cost from Palestinians and the world.

Israeli forces attacked and detained hundreds of participants during the convoy’s previous mission in the spring of 2026. Volunteers also reported severe beatings, broken bones, gunshot-related injuries, repeated use of electric stun guns, and sexual assault while in detention.
