  • Religion grants sense to man/ The need to responsible spirituality

Pars Today- Lack of a deep look at religion and maybe the difference that exists among sects and religions has caused some people to neglect the phenomenon of religion and replace it with morality.

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Reza Ramezani, Secretary General of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly, in a speech at the second conference of religion, health and humanitarian aids, referring to the point that in the East and the West many people tried to omit religion from human thought and, in this confrontation, tried to annihilate religion, said, "In another confrontation, some people tried to restrict religion to social, cultural and political, etc. arenas."

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Ramezani said, "The domain of religion is a comprehensive domain and we shouldn't have a cliché look at religion. The most important issue, that we have to pay attention to in the field of religion, is the comprehensive, exact and deep look. Religion is multidimensional both inwardly and outwardly, and it is the caretaker of and responsible for training of spirit and psyche with regards to a series of human aspects. As for the physical dimension, too, it has general rules and codes that heeding them will be very effective in the physical health."

The member of the Assembly of Experts, stating that some people have called religion as the factor for creation of complexes which causes spiritual and psychological pressures, made it clear, "If we have deep understanding of religious teachings, religion not only won't create complexes, but also it will remove complexes. Religion unties the knots in human being and calms down human spirit and psyche and grants humans a kind of sense of responsibility in expansion of relations."

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Ramezani continued, "At a time, with respect to many progresses achieved in the fields of sciences and technology, some people claimed that these progresses would cause people cut their relation with religion. A group in the West even created a phenomenon saying, "We can have a religion without God." These are the persons who are lacking deep understanding of religion and maintain a cliché view of religion and religious teachings."

Saying that paying attention to religion has increased on a daily basis, he added, "We face with the kinds of fake and counterfeit spirituality in the West. In the US and Europe, there are nearly 4,000 kinds of fake and counterfeit spirituality. Wherever we speak of fake it is clear that we have an authentic one, too, and as long as the authentic one is there the fake one will not be raised."

Secretary General of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly went on to say, "Religion grants sense to man. Granting sense to human life means that it is related with religious teachings. We believe that real calm, in the sense that it can take man to a serene soul and gnostic degrees, is accessible only in religion."

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Ramezani also said, "This spirituality wouldn't be included in the World Health Organization, but today, apart from the physical dimension, social, psychological and spiritual dimensions are also raised. This means that the more we go forward, the need to religion and spirituality grows in the world community."

He went on to say, "Lack of a deep look at religion and maybe the difference that exists among sects and religions has caused some people to neglect the phenomenon of religion and replace it with morality. We are devoted to this field that if religion is heeded exactly, deeply and comprehensively, the moral domain within religion will emerge."

Secretary General of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly added, "The result and outcome of this spirituality is not to make the religious man an isolated person. This religious and faithful look, besides the calm that it creates in human community, it pays attention to expansion of human relations, too. This spirituality, which stems from the real religious teachings, is a responsible spirituality rather than a spirituality that fights responsibility or escapes from it."

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Ramezani pointed to the time of corona virus epidemics in Iran and said, "At that time, physicians, nurses, seminary students and university students staged a jihad and put themselves in the field of risk which led to the martyrdom of many of them. The Leader of the [Islamic] Revolution said, 'It is among my aspirations and I wish these beauties of humanitarian aids could be narrated beautifully.' If one has such a God-believing and God-oriented view, he will never face a deadlock."

Secretary General of the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly, in the end of his speech, referred to the issue of Palestine and said, "Today, we are in need of unity of the followers of Ahl Al-Bayt in humanitarian supports for Gaza. Those who defend humanity, with unity and solidarity, should provide calm for the orphaned children of Gaza. Today, Gaza needs humanitarian supports with a human look."
