National day of anti-terrorism campaign

Shahrivar 8th of the Iranian calendar is marked every year as the National Day of the campaign against terrorism, on the occasion of the martyrdom in 1981 of the then Iranian president and prime minister, Mohammad Ali Rajaei and Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad Javad Bahonar, who fell victim to a terrorist bomb blast triggered by MKO hypocrites, supported by Global Arrogance.

Over the years more than 17,000 Iranians of various walks of life including senior officials have been martyred by terrorist outfits backed by the US, the illegal Zionist entity and certain reactionary Arab regimes, making the Islamic Republic of Iran the world’s number one victim of terrorism. This is indeed a living testimony to the hypocrisy of the claimants of human rights. The diabolical policies of Global Arrogance has now resulted in the spread of organized terrorism all over West and South Asia, North Africa, and even parts of Europe.

Besides the MKO hypocrites, the other terrorist outfits operating against Iran and the Iranian people were and are, Forqan, Komelleh, Tudeh, Pezhak, Arab Khalq, Baluch Khalq, Tondar, and the self-styled Jondallah, all of which are satanic groups with links to Global Arrogance, the Zionist entity, Arab reactionary regimes, and organized trans-regional terrorist outfits such as al-Qa’eda, Daesh etc. According to figures, over five thousand Iranian citizens have over the years become disabled due to the unmanly terrorist acts, of which those disabled by the MKO terrorists number 4 thousand Iranian citizens.

The MKO terrorists who enjoy the financial, political and propagandist support of some western and Arab regimes opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran, have over the years resorted to the most inhuman acts, but have failed in their design to topple the Islamic Republic system. Of the prominent victims of MKO terrorism are Chief Justice Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hussaini Beheshti and 72 of his high-ranking associates, former army chief, Sayyad Shirazi, President Rajaei, Prime Minister Bahonar, nuclear scientists, and prayer leaders martyred in the prayer niches, such Ayatollah Seyyed Asadollah Madani, Ayatollah Seyyed Abdul-Hussain Dastghaib, Ayatollah Ashrafi Isfahani, and Ayatollah Saddouqi.

The terrorist acts of MKO and related groups were not restricted to politicians, and religious leaders, but including ordinary Iranian citizens and nuclear scientists. Iran’s growing progress in various political and scientific fields has made the enemies so helpless that they resorted to carry out indiscriminate acts of terrorism. The nuclear scientists martyred by the terrorists were Dr. Masoud Ali-Mohammadi, Dr. Majid Jamali Fasihi, Dr. Majid Shahriyari, Dariush  Rezaeinejad and Mostafa Ahmadi Rowshan. Dr. Fereidoun Abbasi-Davani survived the terrorist attack. These scientists were the victims of the illegal Zionist entity, Mosad in coordination with CIA. The plot of Global Arrogance was to cripple Iran’s scientific progress especially in the nuclear field, following the futility of the illegal sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic.

Ever since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has been the target of the state terrorism of the US, which instigated Saddam of Iraq’s repressive Ba’th minority regime to imposed the devastating 8-year war, following the failure of Washington’s Operation Eagle Claw air raid in April 1980 in the sands of Tabas. During the closing years of the imposed war, a frustrated US directly entered into open conflict through terrorist acts such as attacks on Iranian oil platforms in the Persian Gulf, the scuttling of the merchant ship Iran Ajor, and finally the downing of the Iranian passenger plane on July 3, 1988 which was on a regular flight from Bandar Abbas to Dubai with some 300 passengers on board.

The US then imposed economic sanctions on Iran which is nothing but economic terrorism. All these events are proof of the fact that the main victim of terrorism over the past 37 years has been the Islamic Republic of Iran. Moreover, the US through its active support for the crimes against humanity of the illegal Zionist entity, is the world’s number one terrorist. Washington shamelessly calls the defensive acts of Palestinians, Lebanese, Iraqis, Afghans, and other people as terrorism, while the real terrorists are US client states, including Saudi Arabia, which has destabilized Iraq and Syria by creating, funding, and arming the savage terrorist outfit, Daesh. Saudi is also actively engaged in open state terrorism in Yemen for the past year and a half, killing children and women, just like the cowardly acts of the Zionist entity.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in his memorable second letter to youths in the West had written: “The oppressed people of Palestine have been experiencing the worst kind of terrorism for more than 60 years. If the people in Europe have been taking refuge in their homes and been avoiding gatherings and crowded centers for some days, it has been for scores of years that no Palestinian family has been safe from the Zionist regime’s carnage and state terrorism, even in its own home. What kind of violence could be compared today with the Zionist entity’s illegal building of townships on Palestinian lands? This entity has been demolishing the homes of Palestinians and destroying their orchards and farmlands on a daily basis without even giving them time to move their living properties or collect their crops, and all this is often taking place before the terrified and tearful eyes of women and children, who witness the beating and injury of their family members and, in some cases, their transfer to notorious torture chambers.”
