The Iranian nation, throughout the years after the victory of Islamic Revolution, has stood firm against all enemy conspiracies in any form or shape, including the imposed war; coup plot; domestic seditions; economic sanctions and acts of sabotage against Iran’s progress, in addition to enemy’s soft war.

Obviously, such a conduct does not match the interests of arrogant powers. Thus, the Global Arrogance, led by the US, confronted Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

Throughout the Sacred Defense Era; the Iranian nation, from all walks of life, stood up against enemies’ barbaric raids. Iranian people have shown time and again that they resolutely stand against the conspiracies hatched by enemies and are present whenever and wherever there is need for Islamic Iran’s support.

The presence and unwavering support of the Iranian nation throughout the imposed war highly boosted the morale of the combatants and contributed to victory over the enemy forces.

Throughout the 8-year imposed war, the former Iraqi regime used any means possible to reach its goals, such as bombarding cities; large-scale usage of chemical weapons in war zones and residential regions, slaughtering thousands of innocent people; attacking oil platforms and urban and economic infrastructures; downing passenger planes; in addition to attacking ships and oil tankers in Persian Gulf, which are all flagrant violations of international rules and regulations.

Everyone has pointed out that selflessness and huge tolerance were needed to steadfast against this large-scale raid. One of the manifestations of popular resistance was the epic of the city of Khoramshahr.

As of September 22, 1980, the former Iraqi despotic regime waged the imposed war against Islamic Republic of Iran. The Iraqi soldiers passed by Shalamcheh Border, dreaming of occupation of Khuzestan Province within three days.

The regional political conditions led them to imagine that occupation of the city of Khoramshahr is an easy task. Thus, the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, had only instructed one battalion to occupy Khoramshahr. This southern Iranian city courageously resisted against the Iraqi forces for thirty-four days with reliance upon popular forces.

Upon the liberation of city of Khoramshahr, many analysts interpreted this victory to be the outcome of the exemplary resistance and steadfastness of the Iranian nation against the invaders, admitting that popular resistance caused the complicated calculations of the foes to go awry. Therefore, the liberation of Khoramshahr turned into an epic; which left long-term impacts on the Iranian nation and taught a lesson to the enemies of Iranian nation.

The liberation of the city of Khoramshahr led to new conditions throughout the imposed war. The liberation of the city of Khoramshahr is an event which is etched in the memory of Iranian people for good.

The steadfastness of the Iranian people, throughout the imposed war, is filled with spiritual beliefs and faith in God.

Thirty-Eight years after the victory of Islamic Revolution, and years after the termination of the Iraqi imposed war, the culture of resistance and steadfastness of the Iranian nation remain as fresh as ever.

In the post-revolution era, the US made strenuous efforts to break down the Iranian people’s resistance through imposition of war and economic sanctions. However, the Iranian nation stood firm against all of these pressures and practically proved that their resistance against enemies’ offensives is based on maintenance of revolutionary values.

Within the Sacred Defense Era, the Iranian nation refused to bow down to the Western and Eastern powers, and is currently more determined than ever to stand up against the plots of arrogant powers. This indomitable resolve can be marked as a turning point in the fate of regional nations, and is tantamount to a sustainable victory for the Iranian nation.

The history of resistance and victory of nations shows that the meddling powers have never tolerated the existence of an independent and resistant nation. Hence, right from the very beginning, they imposed a war on the Iranian nation, and confronted the sacred Islamic system via application of a number of methods.

Hundreds of combatants were martyred and wounded during the Sacred Defense Era. Cities and villages were bombarded, while some urban and rural regions were also subjected to former Iraqi regime’s chemical attacks.

Upon the passage of years, the foes of sacred Islamic system have continued to hatch conspiracies against the Islamic Republic of Iran, but to no avail.

The Iranian nation made significant achievements throughout the Sacred Defense era, and the resounding accomplishments of the Iranian nation have continued to this day. Thus, the invading forces were driven out of Islamic Iran.

The political thoughts of the sacred Islamic system are coupled with the campaign for justice and righteousness. Iranian people’s faith in God has set the stage for reinforcement of revolutionary spirit within this nation.

In fact, the resistance of Iranian people in the face of all hardships has currently turned into a role model for steadfastness against Global Arrogance.

Therefore, the Global Arrogance, led by the US, has prioritized opposition against the Islamic Revolution in a bid to pile up pressure on the sacred Islamic system.

The studies which have been carried out in recent years throughout Western foundations have shown that the US has made every effort to somehow discredit and undermine the sacred Islamic system. Imposition of war on Iran was part of these conspiracies. Meanwhile, the hostility and animosity of the US against Iran continues to this day.
