Sacred Defense Era (4)
The US, in its confrontation against the Islamic Revolution, has maintained soft and hard wars in its Iran Policy, and has not distanced itself from its hostile policy toward Islamic Iran.
One of the goals of the West in imposition of the eight-year war on Iran was to somehow topple the sacred Islamic system. This aim is still pursued by the US as a strategic goal.
The US is hell-bent on undermining Iran in another scene, such as its defensive capacities.
The studies, which have been carried out on the root causes of the onset of Iraqi imposed war, show that one of the set goals was to somehow topple the sacred Islamic establishment.
This plot failed for a number of reasons. However, termination of the imposed war doesn’t mark an end to threats posed against Islamic Iran. Passage of more than three decades has shown that the threats and acts of sabotage against Islamic Iran have not ended and have in fact taken new forms and shapes.
Meanwhile, one of the key US regional policies against Iran is to somehow undermine Iran’s defensive capacity. This goal is pursued via falsely displaying Iran’s missile capacity as a threat. Prior to this pretext, the US tried to falsely display Iran’s peaceful nuclear plan as a threat. This case was finally closed with the conclusion of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action between Iran and 5+1 Group member states, and Iran showed that it has never intended to make an atomic bomb.
Iran is faced with countless threats in its surrounding environment which have been mainly plotted by trans-regional forces and imposed on regional countries. These threats are highly diversified.
The wars imposed on regional countries, including Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, and transference of billions of dollars of weapons to regional Arab states, all aim to wage wars and disintegrate the region. Meanwhile, the military threat posed by the usurper Israeli regime in the region has intensified with the recent decisions of the US Congress to arm the Zionist regime with advanced warfare such as F-35 jetfighters, and the delivery of an atomic submarine by Germany to the illegal Zionist entity.
The US Middle East policies include establishment of naval, ground, and air bases in regional countries, next to Iran’s borders; sales of advanced weaponry to Iran’s Arab neighbors in the Persian Gulf region, and challenging Iran’s security.
In the past two decades, the US stationed more military forces in the region. After the year 2001, Pentagon boosted its ground and naval military bases in the region, especially within the Persian Gulf region.
In the aftermath of 9/11, the US and NATO strategy has been focused on deployment of missile systems with different functions, and sales of billions of dollars of weapons and jetfighters to Persian Gulf regional Arab states, in addition to instigating crisis and tension across the region. This trend has led to a number of consequences such as occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan; emergence of Daesh terrorist outfit, and break out of war in Libya; the destructive impacts of which are evident across and even beyond the Middle East.
Maintenance of a defense and deterrence power is in fact a conventional military necessity. On this basis, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a country which has maintained military capacities to defend security and peace and to repel invaders, has developed its military capacity by the usage of experiences of Sacred Defense era, and reliance upon indigenous potentials.
Iran’s military forces maintain a series of surface-to-surface missiles with a variety of ranges, granting Iran the capacity to hit targets at a 2500-kilometer distance.
Iran’s Air Force also maintains the power to protect Iran’s airspace and to implement operations.
Currently, Islamic Republic of Iran has attained self-sufficiency in production of precise surface-to-surface missiles, different types of ballistic missiles, and drones.
Currently, Iran’s defense industry experts have become capable of designing and producing different types of conventional and advanced weapons, while even partly exporting some of them.
Iran is also among a few countries which manufacture reconnaissance planes.
In the naval realm, Iran is also capable of implementation of major naval missions with the usage of its powerful naval fleet and submarines.
These achievements are in line with maintenance of defense preparedness, based on international rules and regulations. Obviously, Iran does not hesitate a moment to respond to invaders, and to repel threats. This defensive power is based on the experiences, gained in the Sacred Defense era and the threats that Iran is directly exposed to, in the region and throughout Iran’s surrounding area. Meanwhile, Islamic Republic of Iran invites regional countries to security cooperation, and is prepared to stand up against conspiracies and threats posed against collective security in the region.
