Sacred Defense Era (5)
Soft Warfare is one of the topics which have taken shape for a long while. This phenomenon aims to bring down the thoughts in the targeted community in a bid to shake and destabilize the governing political and social system.
Soft Warfare in fact includes any type of psychological warfare and media publicity which aims for the targeted community, group and/or groups, in a bid to render the rival ineffective or defeat the rival without the need to wage a military confrontation.
The soft warfare against Iran maintains a huge scope. Misusage of economic woes; instigation of division among the members of the community; provocation of ethnical and sectarian sensitivities; conveyance of baseless allegations in regard to what is referred to as the inefficiency of Iran’s political system and the threat posed by Iran against its neighboring countries; have long been insisted upon, amidst the hostilities and soft warfare stirred against Islamic Iran.
The term soft warfare is used in opposition to the term hard warfare. This concept is commonly used in the communications and negotiations of strategists, theorists, and experts in social and political sciences.
On March 1955, the US army in its charter, presented an especial definition of soft warfare in the global scene, noting that precise and planned usage of publicity and other means, which aim to leave an impact on the ideas, sentiments, inclinations, and behavioral patterns of the enemy, such that it would lead to fulfillment of US goals and interests.
The most comprehensive definition of soft power has been presented by the American political scientist, Joseph Nye. In his signature book, titled: “Soft Power: The Means to Success in World Politics”, which was published in 2004, Joseph Nye mentions that the term ‘subversion’ is in fact a military term which refers to illegal measures taken against a given country’s interests, with the ultimate goal of toppling a ruling system.
Today, soft power is pursued through a number of fresh approaches and with the application of modern media technology.
The US has confronted the Iranian nation in the past 38 years; and signs of animosity and hostility toward Iran are clearly evident in the behavioral patterns of the US ringleaders.
Throughout the years, the US has imposed a series of unjust sanctions, and acts of sabotage, and has adopted meddlesome policies against Iran. The US has also continued to diversify conspiracies, and resort to intricate plots in its usage of soft power.
The US and Zionist regime, in an effort to wage a soft war against Islamic Republic of Iran, have masterminded a number of strategies to this end, such as the large-scale usage of satellite networks and cyberspace.
These moves are also followed within the framework of news and publicity organizations, and filmmaking companies, with the common intention of presenting a baseless bleak image of Islamic Republic of Iran for the world public opinion.
The fact of the matter is that soft war has practically turned into an integral part of Iranophobia propaganda campaign in a bid to obstruct Iran’s contribution to the establishment of collective stability and security in the region.
In the past two decades, and after the hard warfare era, the US made baseless claims against Iran’s peaceful nuclear plan as a lame excuse to impose a number of economic sanctions against Iran, even threatening to use military force, in a bid to somehow compel Iran to submit to its forceful demands.
Through psychological warfare and soft war, the US staged a futile bid to isolate Iran, dreaming of forcing the grand Iranian nation to give in, with the assistance of regional regimes, which toe the US line. However, it was proven that none of such scaremongering tactics were effective.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood movie industry has collaborated with the West in its soft war against Islamic Iran. In this realm, the West’s propaganda campaign has intended to generate concerns against Iran. The Western media, along with political circles, have tried in vain to disrepute the sacred Islamic system.
The West’s baseless accusations against Iran are evident in the anti-Iranian films which have been produced in Hollywood.
The West also tried to falsely display Iran’s nuclear plan as a threat.
Finally, Iran and 5+1 Group member states reached a nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015. On this basis, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was approved on July 20, within the framework of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231. Upon the approval of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the Iranophobia campaign and soft war partly ended. However, this development did not mark an end to US hostilities against Iran.
Thirty-Eight years have passed since the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution which continues to be a role model for the vigilant nations, who want to gain honor and independence.
The Islamic Revolution has paved the way for major developments, and its irrefutable influence has familiarized the international community with the might and political capacities of divine religion of Islam. Obviously, Islamic Republic of Iran maintains significant capacities, and has turned into a unique power, which cannot be weakened by hard warfare.
The famous American author and theorist, Noam Chomsky, believes as long as Iran maintains its independence and does not bow down to US excessive demands; the US enmity and hostility toward Iran would continue.
Obviously, the US tries to achieve its sinister goals with the usage of psychological warfare, and upon intensification of soft war against Iran. However, the US officials have come to realize that such measures cannot force Islamic Iran to give in.
The US president, Barack Obama, in the waning months of his term in office continues to try to baselessly introduce Iran as a supporter of terrorism.
It should be noted that the US continues to pursue its excessive demands, via adoption of new approaches.
In the previous years, the enemies of Iranian nation tried to downplay the accomplishments of Iranian people, and imposed economic sanctions in a futile bid to obstruct the Iranian nation’s progress in the realms of science and defense. However, the plots of the foes of Iranian nation have been an utter failure. Islamic Iran has shown that it is prepared and powerfully stands against anti-Iran conspiracies and plots.
