Basij Keeps Inspiring Nations
On 26 of November, 1979, Imam Khomeini ordered formation of an organization called Basij. This organization has turned into one of the pillars of Iranian nation's might in the world. Basij, built up of different strata of people, is always in the scene to maintain security and calm in society and help various units of the Islamic system achieve their goals.
This fruitful heritage of Imam Khomeini keeps flourishing and inspiring youths of the world who have decided not to kowtow to the bullying of hellish powers, especially the Great Satan (the US) and its partner in every crime (the Zionist regime of Israel).
Basij is a conscious move based on rationality. A move founded on such a view will keep the society always on alert and ready for activity in every domain. The pillars of this view include, reasoning, willpower, consciousness, vigilance, justice and insight. Accordingly, Basij is grassroots move which marches in the correct path of human being's innate nature.
The meaning of Basij has been intertwined with people. Basij is one of the valuable fruits of the Islamic Revolution and 8-year war which was imposed by the US through its minion, Saddam. Imam Khomeini says on Basij: "May the Mercy and blessings of Great God be on Basij of the downtrodden which is truly the support of the Islamic Revolution and continues its precious endeavour and, thank God, has trained combatants with the efforts of robust youths and million-strong volunteers. It is hoped that, with the active participation of venerated strata of the nation and the fervor and rapture of dear youths which is the blessing of Islam, the 20-million strong army will materialize which will safeguard the Islamic Republic and dear nation against the evil of world-devourers."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describes Basij as "the representative of the entire nation which is present in every field with an inexhaustible spirit and demonstrates its capacity and doesn't fear the risks of this path."
The Iranian nation, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, has taken big strides not only in the sacred arenas of the Sacred Defence and safeguarding Iran's security, but also in the arena of construction, sciences and technology.
Basij is a thought based on rationality and awareness. Such a thought will place the society always in the state of preparedness and full dynamism.
Basij has proved its efficiency in tough and critical conditions in which collective move and popular support is sensed. This valuable model has drawn the attention of revolutionary movements as a novel and successful thought. The Hezbollah of Lebanon, Islamic Jihad of Palestine, Hashd al-Sha'bi of Iraq and other resistance groups in Syria and Yemen against Takfiri terrorism and US-Zionist-backed aggressors are clear examples of this strategic depth of Basij in the Islamic world.
One of the great honours in this arena is the massive participation of the forces who defend the sanctuary of the Ahl al-Bayt in Syria and Iraq who exterminated the Daesh terrorist outfit in Syria and Iraq.
Ayatollah Khamenei says, "In some of the neighboring countries, too, the belief in destroying Daesh hadn't existed; but when they entered the field they saw the victory with their eyes and believed the message of the Islamic Revolution, i.e. 'We can'.
The role model demonstrated by Basij is the very message of Imam Khomeini who said, "If the mellifluous sound of Basiji thought is resonated in a country, the covetous eyes of enemies and world-devourers will be far from it."
Michael Fischer, in part of his book, Iran, from religious debate to revolution' writes, "The transformation taking place among people due to the culture of religious revolution caused the formation and victory of the revolution."
Mohammad Hussein Jamshidi, an Iranian analyst and professor, says, "Thought and culture shape the foundation and basis of every human community and the difference in human communities stems from the difference in their thought, vision and culture. This cultural system, which enjoys rational and religious backbone, is in harmony with the human nature and is characterized by a few features such as seeking unity and transformation, seeking justice and campaign against oppression, Ashura-based vision, martyrdom-seeking and inclination toward a role model. Basij has been shaped on such a ground."
The Leader says, "Basij is the honorable follower of the school of Ashura, the everlasting heritage and inspirer of Iranian nation in history and a movement from people's heart for the people."
