One of the raisons d’être of the blessed month of Ramazan is sympathy with the poor and the needy. Fasting causes Muslims to remind the hunger and poverty of the poor. One of the names of Ramazan is “Shahr-ol-Mowāsāt”, meaning the month of helping others and sharing them in one’s money and belongings.
