The imprudent measure of the US in recognition of al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime of Israel further clarified the sinister intentions of the US administration.

The US measure rubberstamped the US incumbent President, Donald Trump's decisiveness to fully support the Zionist regime's usurpation policies. In the meantime, what will be the dangerous and fatal consequences of this decision for the region and the world?

The fact of the matter is that the US and Zionist regime have caused many problems in West Asia. The current crises in Middle East are in fact the result of the usurpation policies and the military, and radical approach of the criminal Zionists and collaboration of some of the regional reactionary regimes with these trends. Now, the US has spawned a conspiracy which can complete this loop.

For more than sixty years, Palestine and another part of the Islamic lands have been occupied by the Zionists. Beit ul-Moqaddas has been occupied by the Zionist regime of Israel as of the year 1967.

Throughout these years, the Palestinian people have either been driven from their homes and hearths; have faced discrimination and threats in the occupied regions; and/or have been sieged in Gaza Strip. Under these circumstances, the US message to regional nations; especially to the oppressed Palestinian nation is unwavering support for the occupation forces, and maintenance of the Zionist regime's usurpation policies upon announcement of Quds as the capital of the illegal Zionist entity.

A glance at the past shows that the Zionist regime, in a bid to fully occupy
Quds, has placed a number of measures on its agenda, such as expulsion of the main residents, seizure of properties, development of Zionist settlements with the intention of changing the demographic makeup; destruction of sacred Islamic sites and works, and desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque via allowing the entry of radical settlers to this Islamic venue.

Currently, a fresh conspiracy is underway by the US, which could bring about sinister consequences. This current maintains two goals. The first goal is to change the equations in Middle East, after the failure of the plot to disintegrate the region. This plot failed upon the crushing defeat of the terrorist outfit, Daesh, and the impasse of the aggressive policies of the Saudi regime in Yemen. The second goal is to set the stage for exclusion of the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance movement from confrontation with the Zionist regime, and to comfort the illegal Zionist entity in regards to the issue of Palestine. This goal is currently pursued within the framework of Washington's foreign policy, with further clarity.

According to the British daily, Independent, the announcement of the decision of the US president to recognize Quds as the capital of Zionist regime, and to transfer the US embassy to this city will play a decisive role in the decline of Washington's influence in the world. In the meantime, Trump's measure has been strongly condemned by many countries across the world.

These trends show that the root cause of destabilization of Middle East is the continuation of Zionist regime's usurpation policies, the unwavering support of the US administration for the Zionist regime, and denial of the primary rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation in establishment of an independent Palestinian government, with Quds as its capital.

In reaction to this decision, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a statement, announcing: "The absurd measure of the US president in recognition of Quds as the capital of the spurious Zionist regime, is a major sedition against the Islamic Ummah, trampling upon the inalienable rights of the Palestinian nation. It is necessary for the World of Islam and other free and righteous communities to adopt resolute and vigilant stands, foiling this sinister and satanic plot."

As of its establishment in 1948, the Zionist regime has always pursued two goals. The first goal of the Zionist regime has been to gain legitimacy, concurrent with pursuit of usurpation policies. This goal has not been fulfilled given that the Palestine resistance movement has challenged the legitimacy of the Israeli regime.

The second goal of the Zionist regime has been to dominate Beit al-Moqaddas as the first Kiblah of Muslims, and to wipe out the Islamic identity of Quds and the land of Palestine.

The Zionist regime has always threatened the survival and existence of Palestine in a bid to achieve these illegitimate goals.

In the past decade, the Zionist regime has been defeated in four important wars against Lebanon's Hezbollah Movement and Palestine resistance groups. In the 33-day, 22-day, and 8-day wars, the resistance forces were less equipped than the Zionist regime's troops. Nonetheless, they emerged victorious. In the meantime, the three-phased defeat of the Zionist regime from Lebanon's Hezbollah forces is of importance. In the first phase, the occupation forces retreated from Lebanon after its occupation in the year 1982. The second phase was marked with the flee of Zionists from southern Lebanon in the year 2000. The failure of the Zionist troops in the 33-day war in the year 2006 is known as the third phase of defeat of Zionist regime from Lebanese resistance forces.

These victories were completed in the 51-day war in Gaza.

Upon these victories, the drawbacks of the Zionist regime and the US in the region, against Palestinian and Lebanese resistance became more evident. The repeated defeats of the Zionist regime by the resistance current in Lebanon and Gaza showed the fragility of the Zionist regime and its main supporter, the US administration.

The outcome of this resistance is evident in two currents: The first current marked the emerging view that the Zionist regime can be easily crushed in wars; which in turn prevents the advancement of policies and plans of the Zionist regime within the region.

The second current marks the wide-scale participation of Palestinian youths in the anti-occupation campaign. This is an important development which goes to show the continuation and development of these struggles in the future.

Now, it should be said that the resistance current has institutionalized its influence in the World of Islam and has expedited the downward spiral of the usurper Israeli regime. This fact has frightened and concerned the US and the usurper Israeli regime. Under these circumstances, the US strategic goal is to change the trend of these developments in favor of the Zionist regime of Israel. Thus, dominating Quds, and changing the Islamic identity of Quds is considered as a strategic goal for the US, in order to secure the survival of criminal Zionists. Currently, the US has embarked upon this dangerous path throughout Donald Trump's presidential term.

The Palestinian nation has firmly stood up against the occupation forces, and will more decisively continue to do so in the future. The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been to support the oppressed Palestinian nation, in addition to supporting the regional stability and security, and to condemn the divisive and unilateral measures of the US and the usurper Israeli regime.
