Colombian president: World must not remain passive toward Israel

Pars Today – Colombia’s president said his government cannot remain passive in the face of Israel’s destructive actions in Gaza and its violations of international law.

In an article published in The Guardian, Gustavo Petro wrote that over the past 600 days, the world has witnessed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s role in a campaign to destroy Gaza, escalate regional conflict, and blatantly disregard international legal norms. He added that governments must not remain inactive. “In September 2024, when we voted on the UN General Assembly resolution concerning Israeli policies and actions, we committed to specific steps—including investigations and prosecutions.”
