Pars Today – Nigeria’s foreign minister has rejected pressure from the United States to accept deported nationals from Venezuela and other third countries, saying Nigeria is not in a position to host such individuals.

According to Pars Today citing IRNA, Yusuf Tuggar said the US has exerted “significant pressure” on African countries, including Nigeria, to receive deported Venezuelan nationals.

He stressed that, given Nigeria’s social and economic challenges, it cannot comply with such demands. “It is difficult for a country like Nigeria, with a population of over 200 million, to accept deported migrants—particularly individuals with criminal records,” Tuggar stated.
