Iran expresses solidarity with the people and government of Venezuela in the face of U.S. interventionist policies

Pars Today – On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to the U.S.’s interventionist stance and actions against Caracas, condemned Washington’s measures in this regard and expressed solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela.

According to a statement posted on the official X account of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, “The interventionist conduct and rhetoric of U.S. officials in the internal affairs of independent countries, including Venezuela, have, in an unprecedented manner, discredited and undermined the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.”

The statement further stressed: “The U.S.’s insulting act of threatening the lawful president of an independent UN member state and leveling baseless accusations against him is a clear indication of the growing addiction of American policymakers to aggressive unilateralism and coercive methods to advance illegitimate objectives in foreign policy.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry added: “No responsible country can remain indifferent to this dangerous trend, which targets the normative and moral foundations governing the United Nations.”
