European Union extends sanctions on Russia
Pars Today – The Council of the European Union has extended its sanctions against Russia for another six months.
In a statement, the EU Council announced that restrictive measures against Russia have been prolonged until March 15, 2026. The sanctions target over 2,500 individuals and entities.
Meanwhile, the European Union announced that it has lifted Russia-related sanctions against an individual whose name was not disclosed.
Bloomberg claimed that although Moscow faces crippling sanctions from the U.S. and Europe, it has managed to circumvent them by sourcing sanctioned goods from China and third countries, as well as finding buyers for its oil and gas in countries such as India and others.
Bloomberg had previously reported that, in addition to imposing higher duties on Russian oil buyers, the U.S. is considering sanctions on Moscow’s covert oil tanker fleet and on Russian energy companies Rosneft and Lukoil. / IRNA
