Iranians mourn martyrdom anniversary of Prophet’s daughter

Iranians are commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH), the revered daughter of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny). Some mourners also give away food to people in need to mark the occasion.

According to Press TV, people from all walks of life are attending mourning ceremonies like this across the country to pay tribute to Hazrat Fatima, the wife of Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Shias’ Imam.

Several other Muslim countries, including Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan, are also marking the occasion, which falls on the third day of the lunar Islamic month of Jamadi al-Thani.

Hazrat Fatima is the mother of the second and third Shias’ Imams, Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein (PBUT) respectively.
