Iran’s defense power for regional peace: IRGC commander

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps reassured regional countries that Iran supports its neighbors and Muslim countries in difficulties and uses its defense power to ensure peace and calm in the region.

According to Tasnim news agency, Major General Hossein Salami told reporters on the sidelines of parades marking the National Army Day in Tehran on Tuesday “We wish regional countries nothing but security and comfort.”

He said the military parades give the neighbors the message that Iran is a supporter of Muslim nations and won’t abandon them in difficulties.

The commander stated that the Islamic Republic’s policy is based upon peace, calm and security.

Highlighting Iran’s perfect position in the region and its unparalleled defense power, the general said such a standing has turned the Islamic Republic into the anchor of stability and security in the region.

Iran tries to employ its defense power in favor of regional peace and calm, he stated.

The Iranian Army units held massive military parades across the country on Tuesday morning to celebrate the National Army Day.

In the capital Tehran, a ceremony was held near the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him), with high-ranking officials and senior military commanders in attendance.

During the event, participated by President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, units from the four divisions of the Army, namely the Ground Force, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Air Defense, displayed their equipment.
