Iran and India have expressed their firm determination to improve relations in various fields.

According to Press TV, in a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Shri Vinay Kwatra in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the two countries' senior officials are determined to enhance ties.

Kwatra, for his part, said the Indian government is firmly determined to expand relations with Iran and hopes that the two countries' joint efforts would increase the volume of economic relations in various sectors, including agriculture, fishery, and traditional medicine.

The Indian diplomat hailed Iran's leading role in West Asia and said New Delhi is committed to the dispatch of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

In a phone conversation in August, President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi and Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi discussed the ways to enhance bilateral relations, mutual cooperation and the realization of the full potential of Chabahar Port.

President Raeisi said Iran and India should specifically expand cooperation in the fields of transit and energy security, adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to strengthen regional convergence and develop economic relations with all countries across the globe, particularly those in Asia, in this regard."
