President to attend GECF summit in Algeria
President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi is scheduled to attend the upcoming summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Algeria.
According to Mehr News Agency, Iran's Deputy Oil Minister of International Affairs and Trading Ahmad Asadzadeh said on Saturday that the president will take part in the summit at the head of a high-ranking delegation.
Raeisi is expected to deliver a speech at the event which is slated to be held on March 2, according to Asadzadeh.
The president will outline Iran’s position on the GECF’s policies and will call for increased cooperation among members in various areas such as the natural gas industry, energy security, and investment, he said.
The official added that the summit provides a platform for constructive dialogue, where members can share their perspectives on the energy sector and its future outlooks.
Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji will also participate in the summit.
The GECF summit is an annual event that brings together heads of state and government from member countries. It provides a platform for leaders to discuss issues related to the global gas industry, including market trends, challenges, and opportunities. Iran is set to host the GECF summit in 2027.
