Iranian chess grandmaster secures championship in Russian super tournament
Pars Today - Iranian chess grandmaster, Mohammad Amin Tabatabaei won the championship in 2024 Aeroflot Super Tournament in Russia.
In the final round of this tournament, Tabatabaei secured victory against Russia’s Andrei Esipenko, earning 7.5 points to claim the championship.
In the prestigious Aeroflot tournament in Russia, 142 renowned chess players from 30 countries participated.
Chess as one of the ancient games, continues to be popular worldwide, with some attributing its invention to Iran, while others attribute it to the Indians, Greeks, Romans, and Babylonians.
