Indian parliament commemorates Iranian late president and foreign minister
Pars Today - The Upper House of the Bicameral Parliament of India "Rajya Sabha" marked the memory of the Iranian President, Martyr Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, and Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian during the reopening ceremony.
The Upper House of the Indian Parliament, to commemorate the recently lost heads of Iran, Malawi and Tanzania, started its work after offering a few minutes of silence. According to Pars Today, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice-President of India, during the reopening ceremony of the parliament, expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and government and said, "The Indian nation marked the day of funeral of the Iranian officials as national mourning."
Dhankhar, stressing that Martyr Raeisis and Martyr Amir-Abdollahian played a basic role in bolstering and expansion of India-Iran ties, added, "The Indian parliament sympathizes with the bereaved families and the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Members of the Indian Rajya Sabha, then, offered a few minutes of silence as a sign of respect for the late leaders and their important role in improvement of relations with India.
Iran and India have historical relations which enjoy several important features including Farsi language and the rich Eastern culture. These features have caused the Iran-India relations develop throughout various periods despite vicissitudes. That's why Indian officials of both the Congressional party and the ruling party of Bharatyia Janata, have a different look at expansion and deepening of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
A while ago, Rudra Gaurav Shresth, Indian Ambassador in Tehran, emphasizing on strong friendship between India and Iran, made it clear, "Anyone who comes to power in these two countries supports this friendship."
