  • Japanese tourist describes Iranian society and women with the words: security, diversity, hospitality; Exposure of big lies of Western media

Pars Today- A Japanese tourist, who has just traveled to Iran, has presented an interesting account of the Iranian ladies' lifestyle and its difference with that of the Japanese women.

Kanai Maki is a Japanese tourist, writer, graphist and researcher who has traveled to Iran for the third time. Every time, she stays in Iran for two or three weeks. Pars Today has chosen excerpts of her account:

Kanai Maki says that before her trip to Iran, her family, affected by the Western media, were very worried about her to the extent that they thought she would not find anything to eat in Iran and she had better to call off her trip. But, at last she traveled to Iran. She says, "I said to myself upon returning home I will explain them that here [in Iran] you can have whatever you want."

As a woman who has traveled to 36 countries, Kanai Maki feels some sort of bond with Iran so that she rejects the remarks such as insecurity, famine, sanction and many other incorrect descriptions about Iran.

Maki believes that the reality of the Iranian society is far away from what the Western media magnify in a negative and bleak way. She adds:

"Let the world people travel to Iran and then judge about it."

This Japanese lady maintains that the most important characteristic of the Iranian people is their hospitality. She says:

"The Iranian people build up a warm relation in the first meeting and always rush to help and guide."

Kanai Maki explains on the state of women in Iran, "When you look at the Iranian women from a distance, under the impact of what you hear from the news, you will see them on a monolithic and single ground; but once you approach them, you build up a relation with them and live with women here, you can see a diversity of lifestyle which is very interesting. This is quite the opposite in Japan. Although you see the Japanese women in various mental frameworks, when you go deep in their life, you can see that most of them are included in a single group depending on traditions."

This Japanese tourist then speaks about women's security in Iran:

"As a woman, I have walked alone several times at night in the streets of Tehran while feeling fully secure. You may not believe that I have not experienced this feeling in many European and even American countries."
