  • Araghchi: This round of talks was more serious and to-the-point compared to previous rounds

Pars Today - Referring to the results of the fourth round of Iran-U.S. talks, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated: In our opinion, enrichment is an issue that must be discussed further and there is no room for compromise.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday after the fourth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States regarding the results of this round of talks: This round of talks was more serious and explicit than the previous three rounds. We moved away from general areas and entered into specific issues, and in these circumstances, negotiations become difficult.

Araqchi added: Very useful discussions were held and the two sides have a much better understanding of each other's stances. A large number of disputed issues have been opened up and the positions have come closer to each other. The talks can be further evaluated going forward.

Regarding the next round of talks, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: "An agreement has been reached for the next meeting, but it is up to the Omani Foreign Minister to announce the date and place of that meeting. I think the next round will be held about a week from now".

Regarding technical issues, the head of Iran's diplomatic service said: "In our opinion, enrichment is an issue that must continue and there is no room for compromise. We may place restrictions on the amount and level of enrichment for confidence-building purposes, but never on the principle itself. Also, the lifting of sanctions is one of the fundamental issues of the negotiations".
