Al-Akhbar: Iran’s indigenous nuclear industry will never be eliminated
Pars Today – A Lebanese Arabic-language newspaper wrote that despite the U.S. attack on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities, the indigenous nature of Iran’s nuclear industry, along with its advanced technologies, has made its destruction impossible.
According to Pars Today, the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar stated that on April 6, 2006, Iran officially announced that by enriching uranium to 3.5% for peaceful and civilian purposes, it had joined the ranks of nuclear-capable countries and now possesses the full nuclear fuel cycle. This achievement was the result of a long journey—everything from uranium extraction to energy production was carried out domestically in Iran.
The newspaper further noted that in Western and Arab discourse, nuclear reactors are often equated with nuclear facilities, whereas in reality, nuclear facilities generally refer to production centers and do not necessarily contain hazardous or highly reactive radioactive materials.
On June 13, 2025, the Zionist regime, in blatant violation of international law and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national sovereignty, launched a military strike targeting areas in Tehran and several other cities, including Iranian nuclear facilities. In this aggression, a number of Iranian scientists, military personnel, and civilians were martyred.
Furthermore, continuing this aggression, the United States directly attacked Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites in the early hours of Sunday, June 22, effectively joining Israel’s war against Iran. In response to these actions, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, invoking Article 51 of the UN Charter, emphasized that the Islamic Republic reserves all options to defend its national interests and the security of its people.
