Maariv: We are trapped in the Gaza quagmire

Pars Today – The Zionist daily Maariv acknowledged on Sunday that the regime is mired in the Gaza quagmire amid heavy military losses.

In an article, military correspondent Avi Ashkenazi wrote, “We are nowhere near any kind of victory—it is time to end the media posturing and the war itself.” He noted that 1,982 Zionists, including 893 soldiers and officers, have been killed in the war on Gaza, and thousands more have suffered physical and psychological injuries.

Ashkenazi concluded, “This is what sinking into the Gaza quagmire looks like.” He noted that the regime launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, with two main objectives: to eliminate the Hamas Movement and to recover its captives. However, it has failed to achieve either goal.
