Pars Today- Iran's minister of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts said that global registration of "prehistoric site of Khorramabad Valley" is a historical event for the world culture.
After global registration of "prehistoric site of Khorramabad Valley" at the 47th meeting of the UNESCO Global Heritage Committee, Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, described this achievement as a turning point in the Iranian cultural diplomacy and an indicative of this country's great civilizational capacity. According to Pars Today, he added, "Khorramabad Valley is the 29th Iranian work that has been registered at the UNESCO global heritage."
He also said, "According to the scientific data and advanced analytical methods of valid laboratories in the world, Khorramabad Valley has been introduced as the first proved human habitat in the world. This area dates back to 65 thousand years ago."
Salehi Amiri continued, "The director of the global heritage committee at the UNESCO stressed three times, during studying this file, that no other historical site has so far been discovered and proved to be so old anywhere in the world. Thus, this registration is considered an astounding and unprecedented event not just for Iran but for mankind and the global memory."

Pointing to the vastness and variety of historical monuments in Iran, he reiterated, "Islamic Iran has contained a unique treasury of human heritage. In continuation of what has begun in the recent years, we predict that, till the next 50 years, one or more new files will be presented to and globally registered at the UNESCO."
Salehi Amiri stressed, "Global registration of Khorramabad Valley is a document of authenticity and profundity of the Iranian civilization and a big step towards civilizational interaction with the world."
