The presence and speech of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, at the mourning ceremony for the martyrdom of Imam Reza (PBUH)
Pars Today: The Leader told thousands of people from various walks of life that “the invincible shield of solidarity between the people, officials, and the Armed Forces must never be undermined.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, this Saturday morning on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of the world's Shia Muslims, in a meeting with thousands of people from various walks of life, explained important points regarding current issues and emphasized: Iran's enemies have understood from "the nation's, officials', and armed forces' powerful resistance and unity" and from "suffering a heavy defeat in military attacks" that the Iranian nation and the Islamic system cannot be brought to their knees and subdued through war; therefore, they are now pursuing this goal by "creating discord within the country." In the face of this, all the people, officials, and those with influence through speech and pen must, with all their being, preserve and strengthen "the impenetrable steel shield of the nation's sacred and great unity."
According to Pars Today, His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei, in the first part of his speech, referred to the eighth Imam as the benefactor of the entire world, especially Iranians, and, while offering condolences on the martyrdom of the Compassionate Imam, stated in describing the prominent impact of that great Imam's journey to Khorasan: The school of the Ahl al-Bayt, which after the martyrdom of Sayyid al-Shohada (PBUH) had become isolated and oppressed, emerged from its isolation under the influence of the results of that journey, and the Shia found a spirit that enabled them to preserve Shiaism throughout history and expand the followers of the school of the Ahl al-Bayt every day.
He considered the leap in promoting the issue of Ashura as the second important outcome of the Eighth Imam's journey to Khorasan and added: "By attracting the hearts of the people towards the uprising of Ashura, Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (PBUH) placed its philosophy and objectives—'fighting against injustice' and 'not tolerating the wicked and corrupt in Islamic society'—at the center of people's minds, thus paving the way for the presentation, clarification, and promotion of many social teachings of Islam."
In the second part of his remarks on current affairs, Ayatollah Khamenei described the nation’s powerful and strong resistance during the second imposed war as the reason for the Iranian nation’s special greatness and double-folded dignity in the eyes of the world. He posed an important question, asking: “What is the real reason behind the continuous hostility of all US governments toward Iran over the past 45 years?”
In response to this seemingly simple yet complex question, he added: “In the past, the Americans concealed the real reason for this hostility under titles such as terrorism, human rights, democracy, women’s issues, and similar matters, or they would say respectably that ‘we want to change Iran’s behavior.’ However, the individual currently in power in the US has revealed the real reason for their hostility toward Iran, stating, ‘We want Iran to listen to us.’ In other words, they want the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic system to obey their orders.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized the importance of deeply understanding this sinister American goal, stating: “They want Iran, with its great history, and its nation, with all its dignity and honor, to obey the US.” He described those who claim that the reason for America’s anger and hostility is the slogans of the Iranian nation as superficial individuals, adding: “Those who say, ‘Why don’t you engage in direct negotiations with the US and resolve the issues?’ are also superficial, because the core of the matter is not what it appears to be. Given the real goal of the US in its hostility toward Iran, these issues are unsolvable.”
Ayatollah Khamenei described the words and actions of the US officials to bring the Iranian nation to its knees and force it to obey as an insult to Iranians, emphasizing: “The nation is deeply offended by such an ugly expectation and strongly stands against this demand.” He stated that the real reason for the recent war was this very expectation and malicious goal, adding: “They provoked and assisted the Zionist regime so that, in their own imagination, they could finish off the Islamic Republic, because they did not expect the nation to stand against them and deliver such a blow that they would regret their actions.”
The Leader of the Revolution, referring to the gathering of a number of American mercenary agents in Europe one day after the start of the war to discuss establishing a government after the Islamic Republic, stated: They were so delusional and confident in achieving their vile goals that they held a meeting one day after the attack began to determine the next government and even appointed a king.
His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the presence of an Iranian among those fools, said: Shame on that Iranian who works against his own country in favor of the Jews, Zionism, and America.
The Leader of the Revolution described the enemies' and their mercenaries' delusion of a gap between the people and the system as another fantasy and stated: The nation, by standing firm alongside the system, the armed forces, and the government, struck a hard blow to the mouths of all of them.
He described the show of power by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic as something that changed the equations and added: We and the entire Iranian nation thank the armed forces for their great work, and from now on, Iran's capabilities and the power of its armed forces will increase day by day.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the enemy's assessment of recent events as an inability to bring Iran to its knees through war and military attack and stated: Despite these hostilities over the past 45 years, the Islamic Republic has grown stronger every day, and the enemy has also realized that the way to push back the Islamic Republic is not through the use of violent tools and means, but rather they must create discord and division within the country.
He listed the internal agents of America and Zionism in various parts of the country and the unaware speakers and writers as the causes of discord and polyphony, adding: Today, thank God, the people are united, and despite differences in political and social tastes, they are united in defending the system and the country and standing against the enemy. This unity prevents the aggression and encroachment of the enemies, and for this reason, they seek to destroy this unity.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the preservation of national unity as a public duty and stated: The sacred unity, the great gathering, and the steel shield of the people's hearts and wills must not be tarnished.
The Leader of the Revolution described the Zionist regime as the most hated regime and government in the world among nations and noted: Even Western governments such as Britain and France, which have always supported the Zionist regime, now condemn it; however, these condemnations are verbal and useless.
He described the current crimes of the heads of the Zionist regime, such as killing children by starving and dehydrating them and shooting them in food lines, as unprecedented in human history and added: We must stand against these disgusting crimes; of course, standing with words and condemnation is useless; rather, we must act like the brave people of Yemen and do something to close all avenues of aid to the Zionist regime.
Ayatollah Khamenei, in conclusion, by announcing the readiness of the Islamic Republic to take any possible action in this regard, expressed hope that Almighty God, by blessing the movement of the Iranian nation and all the truth-seekers of the world, would uproot this deep and deadly cancer from the region and awaken the Muslim nations and unite them with each other.
