Pars Today — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement emphasizing vigilance against the Israeli regime’s breaches, announced that Iran has consistently supported any measure or initiative aimed at ending the war and genocide in Gaza, ensuring the withdrawal of occupying forces, facilitating humanitarian aid, securing the release of Palestinian prisoners, and upholding the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
According to Pars Today citing IRNA, the ministry issued the statement on Thursday, October 9, in response to ongoing efforts to halt the genocide in Gaza. The full text of the statement reads as follows:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, recalling the provisions of its statement dated October 5, 2025, regarding the cessation of genocide in Gaza, reaffirms that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently supported any action or initiative that ensures an end to the genocidal war, the withdrawal of occupying forces, the delivery of humanitarian aid, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and the fulfillment of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
As a supporter of the Palestinian nation’s legitimate resistance in pursuit of the right to self-determination, the Islamic Republic of Iran has, over the past two years, utilized all its diplomatic capacities—particularly within the region, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations—to exert pressure on the Israeli regime and its supporters to end the genocide and ensure the withdrawal of occupying forces from Gaza.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, honoring the memory of the great martyrs of the Resistance, underscores the responsibility of the international community to prevent the occupying regime from breaching its commitments, and calls on all parties to remain vigilant and cautious in the face of the Israeli regime’s deceit and bad faith.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates that halting the crimes and genocide in Gaza does not absolve governments and competent international bodies of their shared legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibility to pursue justice. This includes identifying and prosecuting those responsible for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, with the goal of ending the decades-long impunity of the Israeli regime.
In the early hours of Thursday, October 9, 2025, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued an official statement announcing the conclusion of an agreement to end the war in Gaza and exchange prisoners. The agreement came into effect just a few hours earlier.
