Pezeshkian: Precondition for ending war is guaranteeing non-recurrence in future
Pars Today - The President of Iran stated that the precondition for ending the war and conflict in the region is the immediate cessation of aggressions by the United States and the Zionist regime, and a guarantee that these aggressions will not be repeated in the future.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Saturday discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments in light of the continued military aggressions by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran during a phone call with Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
Pezeshkian, while elaborating on the dimensions of the illegal aggressions and attacks, and the committed crimes by the United States and the Zionist regime, stated: "Iran did not initiate the war, and the aggressor enemy, without any reason, logic, or legal basis, during the nuclear negotiations, took military action against Iran, martyring the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, high-ranking military commanders, and a group of defenseless citizens, including innocent schoolchildren, and targeting our country's public facilities."
Furthermore, in order to establish peace and stability in the West Asia region, he called for a security structure composed of regional countries, so that peace and security in this region would be guaranteed by the countries of the region themselves, without foreign interference.
Considering India's rotating presidency of BRICS, Pezeshkian called for the group to play an independent role in halting aggressions against Iran and safeguarding stability and security in regional and international arenas.
Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in this conversation, expressed his country's deep concern over the escalation of tension and conflict in West Asia. He strongly condemned any attack on energy infrastructure in the region, citing the serious threat it poses to food and energy security and the export of agricultural products worldwide. He also called for the continued security of the Strait of Hormuz and freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf.
